For the past 15 years The Australian Tattoo Expo (ATE) has been a part of the professional tattoo industry. Many artists have attended ATE events since early in their careers and today those same artists stand on the world stage of tattooing.
The past year has been extremely challenging for artists and some of those who worked behind the scenes for ATE. The recent cancellations of events without any explanation has created frustration and mistrust towards the ATE brand and we now want to set the record straight and hopefully regain the community’s trust.
ATE under its previous management collapsed over a year ago and has been under administration during that time. It has been a long road to untangling the issues that were occurring. That chapter is now closed and the brand has been acquired by a new company called the Uncharted Group. We have no ties to the former management.
ATE now has a fresh leadership team, one that is built on accountability and professionalism. We aim to work closely with our partners to ensure that we reflect the values the community uphold.
Ticket holders and exhibitors who were previously left out of pocket will be contacted directly. We are currently working closely with liquidators to finalise the full list of parties affected. We now aim to re-launch with stronger commitments! Every ticket and booth will come with clear refund and rollover guarantees. Communication will stay open and consistent.
The ATE name continues! Supported by the 4,000+ artists, crews, retailers and 40,000+ attendees who have built the event over the years. We now aim to honour this history and rebuild the events with transparency and integrity.
The Australian Tattoo Expo has always been more than just an event! It is a gathering of artists, a platform for the conferencing of knowledge, a meeting place for new and old friends and the celebration of culture. It is also a fantastic experience for members of the collecting public who continue to patronise the events to experience first hand the amazing talent of artists from around the world under one roof.
2025 Relaunch incoming! Official dates, venues and application will be announced soon. Thank you for your patience and we hope that we can work with you to come back stronger and even better!
